What is R2 Certification?
R2v3 is the current and only active version of R2, the electronics reuse and recycling industry's leading certification. SERI is the housing body and ANSI-accredited Standards Development Organization for the R2 Standard.
How to become an R2 certified recycler
Choose a SERI-approved certification body, such as Orion Registrar. Apply for your SERI license. Select an R2 consultant to prepare your facility for the audit.

What is R2 Certification?
R2 is the electronics reuse and recycling standard owned by SERI, and being R2 Certified means an accredited certification body has audited your facility against it. R2v3 is the current and only active version.
Which management systems does R2v3 require?
R2v3 requires a certified environmental, health and safety (EH&S) management system. Paradygm recommends ISO 14001 together with ISO 45001, because those certificates are recognized worldwide and across industries; SERI also accepts RIOS. A certified quality management system is required only if your scope includes test and repair (Appendix C) or brokering (Appendix F).
Do you issue the R2 certificate?
No. An accredited R2 certification body audits you and issues the certificate; we prepare you for it.
